Air Show pivots to an expanded civilian lineup and a complete family aviation experience
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — The Florida International Air Show has been notified that the U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team will not appear at the 2026 Florida International Air Show, scheduled for November 7–8 at Punta Gorda Airport.
The scheduling change was a military decision and was outside the control of the Florida International Air Show’s Board of Directors. While the Board is disappointed that the F-35A will not be able to participate, preparations are moving forward for an exciting weekend featuring an expanded lineup of civilian performers and aircraft.
Recent additions include the powerful MiG-17 jet and the legendary TA-4J Skyhawk, bringing military aviation history, speed and excitement to the skies over Punta Gorda. The weekend’s scheduled performers also include international aerobatic pilot Aarron Deliu, Red Bull Air Force pilot Kevin Coleman, Franklin’s Flying Circus and The Chuters Jump Team.
“We share the disappointment of everyone who was looking forward to seeing the F-35A,” said Denise Dull, President of the Florida International Air Show. “However, the Florida International Air Show has always been about much more than one aircraft or performer. Our Board is pivoting quickly and remains committed to presenting a full and exciting lineup while creating an unforgettable aviation experience for families throughout Southwest Florida.”
The Florida International Air Show is designed as a complete aviation family day—not simply a series of aerial performances. Guests can enjoy aircraft displays, interactive exhibits, food vendors, community organizations, aviation activities and opportunities to meet pilots and performers.
The STEM Innovators Pavilion will give children and families an opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through engaging, hands-on experiences. The Air Show’s Earn Your Wings Reading Program encourages young people to discover the joy of reading while learning more about aviation. Additional family attractions, exhibitors and activities will be featured throughout the weekend.
“Our goal is to provide a family memory festival—an experience where parents, grandparents and children can spend the day together, look toward the sky and create memories that will last for years,” Dull added.
The Florida International Air Show is made possible through extraordinary community support. More than 500 volunteers help produce the event, and approximately 30 nonprofit organizations participate and benefit from the Air Show each year. Since 1983, the organization has donated more than $3 million back to the community.
