Saturday is the big day this weekend. Pick from birds at sunrise, a Halloween party at the zoo, a family concert, pumpkins in Immokalee or sugar skulls on Marco Island.

Birding with Biologists

Saturday, October 10, 8 a.m.
Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center, 300 Tower Road, Naples

Walk the estuary with Rookery Bay biologists and look for herons, egrets and other local birds. It is made for beginners. Cost is $30 per person, and you must sign up ahead on the Rookery Bay website. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Boo at the Zoo 2026

Saturday, October 10, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, 1590 Goodlette-Frank Road, Naples

The zoo turns into a living movie set with costumed characters, trick-or-treating for kids 12 and under, a pirate boat cruise, a live show and music. It is all included with regular zoo admission, and it runs again Sunday and Monday. Costumes should be family friendly, and adults may not wear masks that cover the face.

Penelope’s Odyssey of the Orchestra

Saturday, October 10, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Daniels Pavilion at Artis-Naples, 5833 Pelican Bay Boulevard, Naples

Musicians of the Naples Philharmonic follow Odysseus home while showing off each family of instruments. The 10 a.m. show is for the whole family. The 11:30 a.m. show is sensory friendly, with house lights on, open seating and a quiet room. Tickets are sold through the Artis-Naples box office at 239-597-1900.

Pioneer Pumpkin Palooza

Saturday, October 10, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch, 1215 Roberts Avenue, Immokalee

Pick a pumpkin from the patch, decorate it, then make a scarecrow or a corn husk doll. A hayride loops around the old ranch. Free.

Dia de los Muertos at the Marco Island Historical Museum

Saturday, October 10, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Marco Island Historical Museum, 180 S. Heathwood Drive, Marco Island

Kids and grown-ups decorate calaveras (sugar skulls), build an ofrenda (altar) and hear how families honor loved ones who have passed. Free. Both museum events run at the same time, so pick the one closer to home.
