110,000-acre protected coast with a nature center, eco-tours and family events
About
Rookery Bay is a protected area of mangroves, islands and bays that runs from Naples to the edge of the Everglades. Its Environmental Learning Center has hands-on exhibits, an art gallery, trails and picnic spots. Visitors can take boat and kayak tours, camp on some islands, and join bird walks, classes and family events. The reserve also does science research and is supported by the Friends of Rookery Bay.
